Our next concert:
LETTERE D’AMORE
Baroque Violin and Viola
Friday, 12th June, 2026, Free entry. Prompt start at 1:15 pm
St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street, London EC4Y 8AU
“Letters of Love” is a dialogue between violin and viola — two voices in constant exchange, sometimes entwined, sometimes apart, always in motion. The programme explores love in its many shades: joyful and sorrowful, radiant and fragile, earthly and devotional, private and transcendent. Each work becomes a “letter” in sound, expressed through resonance, silence, and gesture rather than words.Together, the instruments trace an emotional journey through contrast and connection, moving between happiness and grief, tenderness and tension, question and response. What emerges is not resolution, but transformation — love continually reshaped through encounter, separation, and return.
This event is taking place as part of the Winchester Baroque group's programme. Daen Palma Huse and Dr Birgitta Huse will provide commentary to the music, and attendants are encouraged to learn about early music performance and the instruments used.
